Spirit of ’45 Celebration at USS Midway Museum

On Aug. 15, 2015, the USS Midway Museum will host a "Spirit of '45" celebration to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII. The free, family-friendly event includes swing dance performances and victory fireworks, and aims to recreate the jubilation felt by all when the war was over, including our WWII veterans.

"From August 14, 1945 on, America first celebrated and then put its powers and energies into new priorities though a history-making decade of monumental achievements in education, production, and scientific advance, and she brought other peace-loving nations along on a great, sustained homecoming jubilee,” said Lohr.
