USNS Mercy Rescues Group Lost at Sea

San Diego-based USNS Mercy – currently deployed in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region – rescued a group of six people, including an infant, lost at sea in Papua New Guinea on June 30, 2015. All six people swam to a small island after their boat ran into trouble in transit from Buka to Carteret Island.
