Customers of San Diego Gas & Electric got some good news when it was announced an overcollection of funds has led to a major refund.

The California Public Utilities Commission announced the $120 million refund on Thursday. The overcollection was due to lower-than-expected fuel costs and higher-than-expected refunds from the government.

Money given back to customers will be in the form of a one-time bill credit that will be given to the utility's customers beginnning Sept. 1.

Most of the credits given out will range from $15 to $25. Some, though, will be more than $100, with the size of the credit dependent upon the customer's energy usage.
