Miss Cali In Racy Photo Scandal

The 21-year-old Prejean was namedfirst runner-up to Miss North Carolina in the Miss USA pageant April 19. Some believe her response to a question about legalizing same-sex marriage may have cost her the title.

Just when we thought we'd heard the last from Carrie Prejean, Miss California, something pops up yet again.

At first, it was her controversial -- but honest -- answer to Perez Hilton's question on gay marriage in the Miss USA pageant. Then, she answered questions from Matt Lauer on the Today Show and refused to back down on her stance.

Soon after, she was rumored to be dating Olympic swimming champion, Michael Phelps. (They're just friends, she says.)

When she returned home to San Diego, she made the rounds of local television morning newscasts talking about her faith and her future.

Now, just a week after her triumphant return to the Rock Church, the openly Christian beauty queen is in the middle of a photo scandal.

A photo of Prejean wearing only pink panties with her back turned to the camera appeared Monday on a gossip blog.

"There are six photos, they say," Access Hollywood's Billy Bush said in a television interview. Bush said he saw one photo. "They are not much different than the photos Miley Cyrus took for Vanity Fair."

"You can see the side view, but that's about it," said Nancy O'Dell, also of Access Hollywood.

O'Dell read from a statement released by Prejean:

"I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I'm not perfect. I've never claimed to be. These attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive."

"It's a witch hunt!" said Bush. "It's almost like a script that's been followed before."

Alicia Jacobs, the Entertainment Reporter at KVBC in Las Vegas, has seen all six of the photos and said that some are much more revealing. She said she thinks they may have been taken after Prejean's pageant-financed breast implant surgery, about six weeks ago.
