A North County woman is accused of attacking her sleeping husband.

Oceanside police said Euripides Torres, 56, was arguing with 64-year-old Carmen Torres just before he went to sleep on Saturday night in their home in the 400 block of Canyon Drive. Euripides told police he was awakened some time later when his wife stabbed him.

Although Torres was stabbed multiple times, he was able to stop his wife and flee the apartment. Carmen was taken into custody at 1:40 a.m. by police, who were called to the scene by neighbors.

Carmen faces attempted murder charges in connection to the case, according to police. She is being held at the Vista Detention Center.
