Jay Jackson is an adrenaline junkie - CFO by day, and charmer of snakes after hours.
One local community has found a man with a unique solution to help snakes and homeowners coexist.
These are images of just some of the snakes he's captured as "Snake Man."
The summer brings out rattle snakes like this one.
This image was submitted to NBC 7's viewer images gallery from a resident near Scripps Poway Parkway. "Red diamond rattle snake seen slithering along the ground cover next to the sidewalk just past Cara Way. It appeared to be 3 1/2 to 4 feet long."
Seeing a snake's head peek out from tall grass doesn't frighten Jackson. He happens to have one of the most bizarre pasttimes in town.
Jackson's cell phone now rings several times a week with calls from people wanting to have help removing a snake like this one.
"I remember the first few, my heart felt like it was going to pound out of my chest.," he told NBC 7.
Little do the snakes know - Jackson is also looking out for them - often times pleading with homeowners over the phone not to kill them with a shovel.
