Sweeney has two daughters and a grandchild in Philadelphia.
Family and friends are asking for help finding a Philadelphia woman who was last seen in San Diego on St. Patrick's Day.
Patty Sweeney, 46, has not been online or contacted her family in more than two weeks, which they stressed was completely out of character for her. They said she came to San Diego to meet a man she met on the Internet.
"This is a scary story of a woman who just dropped out of sight after meeting a local man on the Internet," said an old school friend of Sweeney's, Dan Voelker. "We just want answers ... they desperately need our help."
Her family is hoping to hire a prive investigator to help them in their search.
Fliers are being posted around the Mira Mesa area, where Sweeney was last seen.
