Sheena Parveen is the weekday morning and midday meteorologist for NBC 7.
Throughout her career, Sheena has forecast and covered some of the most significant weather events in recent history, including Hurricane Sandy as it made landfall along the Jersey Shore, the Blizzard of 2016, which required continuous multi-day coverage, and the devastating 2013 EF5 tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma.
Sheena began her on-air meteorology career at WCTV in Tallahassee shortly after graduating from college. She later moved to Fox 13 in Tampa before heading north in 2012 to join NBC10 in Philadelphia as the station’s weekday evening meteorologist. During her five years in Philadelphia, Sheena’s love for the water followed her — famously prompting her to ship a paddleboard cross-country from San Diego, a decision she still counts among her best.
After Philadelphia, Sheena joined NBC4 in Washington, D.C., where she transitioned to a morning schedule before ultimately making her way to San Diego.
Sheena holds a bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Florida State University and is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM), earning her seal from the American Meteorological Society.
Outside the forecast, Sheena is a passionate advocate for animal rescue. Both of her dogs are rescues — one from Georgia and the other from Africa — and she remains committed to supporting shelter animals.
