Despite their gated entry, some residents in a Carlsbad neighborhood are worried about a pair of mysterious deaths.
The bodies of Michael Medford, 50, and his wife Rochelle, 47, were found inside their apartment at the Waterstone Apartment Complex off El Camino Real. Investigators said the bodies were found the by the couple's adult children on Saturday morning.
"Really scary I'd really like to know what was going on, where I live," said neighbor Kristina Farmer.
Detectives said there were no signs of violence or a break in.
They're hoping to get more answers from the medical examiner as to what caused the deaths.
"It's just we want to feel safe," said neighbor Lauren Schwarz.
Michael Medford, a construction worker, was on parole for grand theft according to police.
The couple's 20-year-old son, Nick, told our media partners the North County Times that his parents had coached youth baseball and his father was a construction worker.
He also said his parents were good people who loved their three children.
