Company officials said the 1,600-square-foot store in University Towne Center, at 4545 La Jolla Village Drive, is located in the Macy’s wing of the Westfield Group mall. It features classic toys, games and crafts, with design elements including old-world wooden fixtures, bricks and lantern lighting.

The next store will open at The Headquarters, a waterfront retail and dining center located next-door to Seaport Village, developed by Terramar Retail Centers at the site of a former city police headquarters building.

Geppetto’s Toys was founded in 1976 and has been owned since 1992 by Brian Miller. Operators said the stores feature hand-picked items from around the world, with an emphasis on merchandise not available at most national chain retail stores.
