Vandals Cause $5K in Damages at Preschool Playground

The suspects poured a “tar-like” substance on the playground at the Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church

San Diego Police Department investigators are searching for the suspects responsible for vandalizing a preschool playground at a church in Pacific Beach.

Detectives say that sometime between Saturday, Sept. 13 and Sunday, Sept. 15, unknown suspects vandalized the playground at Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church located at 1675 Garnet Ave.

The suspects dumped a black, “tar-like” substance over the playground structure and grounds, leaving large stains all over the equipment. Police say the act caused more than $5,000 in damages.

A five-gallon bucket containing the black substance was later found by investigators near the playground.
