A person was pistol whipped and robbed Tuesday night in North Park, the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) confirmed.
The incident happened at approximately 9:07 p.m. on the 3700 block of Mississippi Street just south of University of Avenue.
According to SDPD, the incident started inside a home but ended up being on a sidewalk. The attack is considered to be random.
San Diego police say a man was walking when another man came up and robbed him, then hit him in the head with what may have been a gun.
SDPD says the thief may have left the area in a red SUV or Jeep Compass. Two other men may have been with him.
Devarae and Mychael Loomis were sitting on the couch watching television when they heard shouting from outside their home.
They heard a voice tell someone to put down the gun so they called 911.
