A driver became trapped inside a truck after it flipped over and struck a palm tree in Oceanside Wednesday.
The truck was involved in a collision with another car just after midnight that caused it to veer off the roadway and completely uproot a palm tree, according to Tom Bussey with the Oceanside Police Department.
Oceanside firefighters could be seen pulling the driver from the wreckage.
The palm tree toppled over into the parking lot of a Mobil gas station on Mission Avenue.
Bussey said the truck also came in contact with a nearby electrical box, but it is unclear if the box was damaged at this time.
Eastbound lanes were blocked off on Mission Avenue just east of Interstate 5 following the crash.
The extent of the driver’s injuries is unknown at this time.
