Mission Bay High School Guard Boogie Ellis Picks Memphis

Mission Bay High School guard Boogie Ellis has found his new squad.

Ellis announced on Twitter Monday afternoon that he will play college basketball at Memphis.

The news comes 11 days after Ellis asked for and was granted a release from Duke.

According to 247Sports Ellis visited Oregon over the weekend, following a trip to Memphis.

"Just the opportunity to learn from Penny at the point guard spot, and be able to show me first hand on how to be a point guard," Ellis told 247Sports. "And the opportunity to come and play right away with some great pieces."

Ellis is a 6’4 combo guard who is rated as a four-star prospect. The Tigers now have the fifth ranked recruiting class in the nation, which includes No. 1 recruit James Wiseman.

Prior to committing to Duke, Ellis final choices besides Duke included San Diego State, USC, Memphis, and North Carolina.
