Andrew Urdiales, 45, is a former Marine Corporal who was stationed at Camp Pendleton between 1984 and 1991. He's also a convicted serial killer who is accused of murdering five Southern California women, including a woman in San Diego.
Prosecutors in Southern California believe Urdiales shot and killed 31-year-old Maryann Wells in Downtown San Diego in 1988. Wells, a prostitute, was found murdered on Second Avenue.
Investigators said Urdiales also murdered three prostitutes in Riverside County between 1989 and 1995.
Robbin Brandley is the only victim who wasn't a prostitute. She was a 23-year-old student at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, who was stabbed to death in January 1986. She was supposed to attend UCSD later that year, her father said.
"Robbin was a very outgoing, gregarious girl who was interested in getting her degree in communications," Jack Reilley said.
He's angry that it's taken so long to bring Urdiales back to Southern California to face murder charges.
But in 1997, when Urdiales allegedly confessed to the killings, he was already being prosecuted for murdering three prostitutes in Chicago, Illinois.

He was convicted for those murders and now, more than 20 years after the murder spree began, he will be extradited to California, to face murder charges here.
But Reilley, who's waited a long time for justice, isn't holding out too much hope. "When he's here and I seen him in court, I will believe it," he said.
Orange County prosecutors said it's unclear when Urdiales will be extradited from Illinois. But when he is, he'll be tried for all five murders in an Orange County Courthouse.
