A North County psychologist said that pop star, Demi Lovato, can recover and get back to living a healthy life after overdosing on drugs.
Dr. Angela Klein, a psychologist and the director of Centered Ground in Carlsbad, said that teenagers should still look up to the singer as an example of the life-long struggles that come with addiction.
"I believe she can move past this," said Dr. Klein. "She seems to be a fighter and will not give up."
TMZ first reported the news that Lovato was rushed to an L.A. hospital after suffering an overdose Tuesday.
It was reported by TMZ that Lovato was treated with Narcan at her house in the Hollywood Hills, a treatment emergency responders use for narcotic overdoses.
Lovato has been public about her struggle with addiction for years. In June, she released a song called "Sober" when she publically revealed she had relapsed after six years of sobriety.
"A lot of times it's about finding the right help," added Dr. Klein. "There absolutely are treatments that can help."

Dr. Klein said that Lovato can find encouragement in her fans during this hard time.
"She has the support of so many people," said Dr. Klein. "If she can't find the strength within herself, she should draw on the strength of others."
