Fletcher Parkway Closes Due to Gas Leak

El Cajon Police, Heartland Fire-Rescue Department and San Diego Gas & Electric crews managed to close a gas leak that was reported near Fletcher Parkway, Friday afternoon.

The leak was reported just after noon in the area of Petree Street and N. Marshall Avenue, according to El Cajon police. 

A Construction crew who were digging in the area hit a gas line, but as of 4 p.m. the gas leak was closed, officials said. 

Heartland Fire-Rescue Department evacuated Jackman Head Start Center, The Rock Church, Lexus Dealership and other businesses as a precaution and were on standby. 

Officials confirmed that the MTS Orange and Green Line Trolley's were stopped but resumed service in time for the evening commute.  

No injuries have been reported.
