Shots Fired in Parking Lot at Clairemont Shopping Center

A shooting in a popular Clairemont shopping center left two men injured and has launched an investigation into the group of men suspected of opening fire.

San Diego Police were called to a parking lot near Genesee and Balboa avenues just before midnight Monday.

Two vehicles drove up to a parked car and shots were fired, officers said.

The two men in the parked car were injured. One was shot twice in the leg. The other man suffered a cut to the head, police said.

It’s not clear what led to the shooting according to investigators.

Police had a suspect description of five to six men in a lifted white truck and a blue sedan.

The victims were uncooperative, according to police.

The intersection is west of Interstate 805. Several large retailers are located in the area as well as the Department of Motor Vehicles.
