Head out to La Jolla Thursday night for a festive community event with live music, unique cuisine and shopping. The 7th annual Taste of Bird Rock neighborhood celebration and fundraiser will take place from 5 to 9 p.m.
Local restaurants will be offering their best dishes, bands will entertain along the boulevard, and everyone’s favorite boutiques will be open for business.
The Bird Rock Community Council as well as many local volunteers plan and execute this event, which benefits the Bird Rock Elementary School and Cesar Chavez Elementary. In light of the economic downturn and state budget cuts, the proceeds from this event are more important than ever to the community.
The theme of the event this year is Opportunity Through Community and merchants and community members who consistently give time and resources back to important causes will be recognized throughout the event. The BRCC hopes to inspire attendees to continually make a difference in their community in any small way.
Tickets are $25 for Adults who are not members of the BRCC, $20 for Adults who are. Kids ages 3-12 are $15 each. Tickets can be purchased at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, La Jolla Mailbox and Bird Rock Surf.
