Kelvin Henry

Kelvin Henry is a Reporter at NBC 7 San Diego where he is covering the region’s biggest stories. 

During Henry’s time at NBC 7, he has covered a wide range of stories, including Hurricane Hilary preparation, destruction, and the cleanup efforts, the recall effort against Gov. Newsom, the state’s pandemic recovery, and a special report on the Salton Sea Lithium resources fueling the electric vehicle boom. Henry also spearheaded an in-depth special report on San Diego’s response to the uptick in the community’s use of “Tranq”.

Prior to NBC 7, Henry spent three years at ABC57 in South Bend, Indiana. While there, he broke numerous stories including the State of Michigan’s proposed takeover of the Benton Harbor School District, that lead was found in the City of Benton Harbor water supply and landed an exclusive interview with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer about the state’s plan to carry out the takeover of the school district because of the district failing to meet academic standards. Henry also closely covered former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s Presidential run. 

Henry holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Hofstra University and a Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism & Public Affairs from American University. He is from New York City and is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
