A 39-year-old woman has been arrested after causing a four-car crash that killed one person.
Soranun Booppanon was arrested for felony DUI and manslaughter, according to police.
The accident happened around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday near the UTC mall in La Jolla.
According to police, two cars, a Volkswagen Golf and an Audi, were turning onto La Jolla Village Drive from southbound Genesee Avenue.
Officials said Booppanon’s Prius ran a red light and hit both cars, and then ran into a Nissan truck.
The driver of the Golf died at the scene. The passenger of the vehicle was sent to a nearby hospital with what officials described as serious injuries.
Booppanon and the Audi driver suffered minor injuries, according to officials. The Nissan driver was not hurt.
