Heartbreaking Plea From Family After Beloved Brother is Killed by Drunk Driver

Asking the public to think twice before drinking and driving

A San Diego family whose beloved brother was killed by a drunk driver is making a heartbreaking plea to the public to stop and think twice about drinking and driving -- especially on this long holiday weekend.

So far in the month of May, five people have been killed in San Diego County from drunk drivers -  the most ever for one month.

Family pictures show Willy Sarabia, 29, playing with his two children he adored.

"They're devastated their dad is not here with them. My oldest one understands. He wants to go with dad. He cries for him every night, and that's what kills me," said Azuhara Romero, the mother of Sarabia's two children.

Their boys are just four and six years old; now they’re left without a father.

"He was always with them during the afternoon.  Just all of a sudden you take that away from them, they're questioning, ‘Did I do something wrong?’  It's just really hard," Romero said.

Sarabia was loved by many.

He was killed on May 5 in El Cajon while he was a passenger in a horrific crash.  His brother Sandor, explained what made him so special.

"From the time he wakes up, to the time he goes to sleep; he was just known to have so much spirit in him," he said.

Now, his loved ones who have lost so much ask people to think twice before drinking and driving.

"It wasn't just him that died.It was a whole piece of everyone that died with him,” said Sandor.

A GoFundMe page has been set up. The proceeds go to help Sarabia’s two boys.  https://www.gofundme.com/azuhara-and-her-boys
