A single vehicle accident involving a pickup truck and a utility pole sparked a grass fire in Chula Vista Monday.
Smoke was spotted just before 11 a.m. in the area of Heritage Road and Entertainment Circle near the water park and amphitheatre.
Chula Vista Fire Department officials said there was a collision in which a pickup truck struck a utility pole.
Power lines knocked down in the collision sparked the fire in the grass alongside the road.
San Diego Fire-Rescue launched two helicopters when the fire was first reported but they returned to base soon after.
Within 10 minutes crews on the field reported they had stopped the fire's forward progress.
No structures were threatened.
