Chargers Look to Replace Injured Ingram

Melvin Ingram tore the ACL in his left knee at Tuesday's practice

The day after the San Diego Chargers announced its star outside linebacker is out for the season, the team will talk with "one of the two most accomplished veteran pass rushers left on the free-agent market" NFL.com reports.

Melvin Ingram tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee (known as ACL) during the team's practice Tuesday morning.

If Ingram, last year's top draft pick, needs surgery, the injury could cost him the season.

Several sports websites are reporting the team is bringing DE/LB Dwight Freeney to San Diego for a visit. NFL.com reports Freeney has had 107 1/2 sacks in his career, all with the Indianapolis Colts.

Fans expressed shock and frustration on the team’s website citing bad luck or questioning how hard the players were being pushed by the new management.
