Passengers Point Shotgun at Taxi Cab Driver, Demand Money: SDPD

Two men who hailed a cab to give them a ride pulled out a shotgun and demanded money for a taxi cab driver midway through the ride, San Diego Police (SDPD) said. 

Thev robbery happened at approximately 12:16 a.m. Monday on the 6300 block of Wunderlin Avenue in San Diego's Encanto neighorhood. 

The suspects, described as men in their 20s, got into the cab on the 5100 block of Wunderlin Avenue.

Several blocks later, one of the suspects took out a barreled shotgun and demanded money. 

Officers do not know how much the suspects made away with; they fled from the cab shortly after, heading southbound. 

One suspect was described as a man in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build; at the time he was wearing a brown and grey shirt. The other suspect was described as in his 20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a white t-shirt at the time. 

SDPD's Robbery detectives are investigating. 

No other information was immediately available.
