Monday's powerful storm caused minor street flooding in different parts of San Diego County.
According to the county’s department of public works, there are closures in San Marcos at the Country Club dip and in Spring Valley along Quarry Road where a tree was down around noon Monday.
Flooding has also been reported in parts of the South Bay. Among the roads overrun with water: San Miguel in Bonita, Airway and La Media in Otay Mesa and Hollister Road in the Tijuana River Valley.
Residents were using equipment to move mud away from corrals along Hollister Road Monday morning. Excess rain flooded a section of the road measuring about a quarter of a mile but there was no call for evacuations.
This area of the South County often gets hit hard by sudden storms. Last December, close to two dozen horses were rescued near Saturn Avenue when rising water trapped some horses still stuck in their stalls.
Members of the San Diego SPCA stopped by to check on the condition of horses and other livestock in the area. Residents told the SPCA they were not interested in rescue as of early Monday afternoon.
