It was a monsoonal Monday for San Diego with scattered thunderstorms on the horizon as drivers headed east on Interstate 8.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch to be in effect through Monday evening. Basically, conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.

In the past 24 hours county residents have seen lightning and weather-related problems for some SDG&E customers - most of those occurring in the northern part of the county.
Near the Acorn Casino, about an hour east of downtown, rain fell early Monday.
Closer to San Diego, in the community of Pine Valley, folks said they'd like some of that rain. Despite all of the thunderstorm activity this summer they've been fairly dry.
The National Weather Service recorded wind gusts of 60 mph in nearby areas.
Temperatures at the coast will range from the low 70s to mid 80s, according to meteorologist Greg Bledsoe.
The next few days will bring the chance for thunderstorms before the chance to dry off before next weekend, Bledsoe said.
