Two separate crashes near the same point in Fallbrook created a traffic mess for morning commuters on Interstate 15.
Both crashes occurred near Mission Road, one in northbound lanes and the other in southbound lanes.
A SigAlert was issued for southbound traffic just after 5 a.m. due to a hit-and-run crash involving a semi-truck, according to California Highway Patrol.
Traffic on southbound lanes was backed up to Menifee.
Lanes were reopened at about 6:30 a.m.
On northbound I-15, a Ford F-150 towing a trailer overturned blocking at least three lanes of traffic.
Once both collisions were cleared, traffic started flowing normally again, but drivers continued to experience delays.
