Gulls Season Comes to an End

San Diego overrun by depth of San Jose in Calder Cup Playoffs

The Gulls kept sending players to Anaheim. The Barracuda had all the reinforcements they needed. The discrepancy in firepower was too much for San Diego to overcome.

The Gulls lost the Barracuda 2-0 in Game 5 of their Calder Cup Playoffs series Saturday night at Valley View Casino Center. San Jose got goals from Barclay Goodrow and Adam Helewka then watched their goalie take over.

American Hockey League Goaltender of the Year Troy Grosenick stopped all 34 shots the Gulls threw at him. San Jose wins the Pacific Division championship four games to one and moves on to the Western Conference Final.

However several Gulls may not have had their season come to an end. The Ducks may need more players if they suffer any injuries in their NHL Western Conference Final against Nashville so the skaters in San Diego will still have to stay sharp.
