A car inside a Nestor home caught fire Friday evening, according to the San Diego Fire Rescue Department.
Smoke could be seen from the home in Ilex Avenue and Green Bay Street in the Nestor area near Imperial Beach at about 5 p.m.
The car fire spread into the two-story home as fire crews arrived to the scene. Most of the damage was sustained on the first floor, but flames also extended to the second floor, according to a department spokesperson.
Shortly after arriving, crews were able to knock the fire down, but heavy white smoke could still be seen in the area.
No one was injured in the fire.
Fire investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
