A Poway teen who grabbed the spotlight after winning the national spelling bee sets his eye's on Alex Trebec's kingdom, according to a published report.
Rancho Bernardo High student Anurag Kashyap won the spelling bee in 2005. On Monday, he will make his first appearance on America's favorite answers and questions game, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. The teen is a senior now and is hoping to win money on the program to help pay for college.
While it's a mystery how Kashyap did on the show, the teen may have inadvertently revealed more than he meant to when the paper asked him how he did.
"I was excited all the way through," Anurag told the paper.
Anurag said he grew up watching Jeopardy!
