After just over a week of rigorous searching via social media, a father in Texas is flying to San Diego to be reunited with his 17-year-old daugher.
Haley Wilson went missing the day after Christmas in Amarillo, Texas. Her father, Ray, told a local television station that she left through her bedroom window with her bedding and her guitar. She left a note saying she felt she had nothing going for her.
Though in her note she told her father not to look for her, Ray immediately reported her as a runaway.
He also posted this YouTube video on Facebook and Twitter. The clip went viral, and he soon had a strong network of followers helping in his search.
On Tuesday, Ray again turned to social media to share the good news: Police in Carlsbad found Haley.
In his Tweet, he said he was headed out to San Diego to meet her.
