A man in a van may have tried to lure kids into his van Tuesday morning in La Mesa, La Mesa Police (LMPD) said.
The incident happened on the 8800 block of Dallas Street in La Mesa at approximately 8:26 a.m. when police responded to a call of a man possibly attempting to lure kids, officers said.
Two boys were walking to Parkway Middle School when an adult man driving a van made a gestured or waved over at the boys, LMPD officers said. There was no verbal exchange.
The boys took off running to school and there, they told authorities of what had happened.
Police responded and interviewed the boys and filed a report.
Officers searched for the van or suspect, but did not find anything. The van is described as rusty blue. There is no further description of the van or man.
Lt. Nicholass said the boys did the right thing.
