Chollas View Woman Stabbed

A Chollas View woman is recovering from a stab wound to the leg that she says she received while sleeping, authorities said.

Police arrived to the woman's home in the 3200 block of East Virgo Road just before 5 a.m.Saturday.

The 50-year-old woman had a 4-inch knife stuck in her upper thigh. She told officers she received the wound while sleeping.

"She wasn't being all that cooperative, so there may be more to that story," San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick said.

Officers are questioning the woman's friend in relation to the incident and investigating the stabbing as an assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening wounds.
