The California Highway Patrol has a suspect in custody in a deadly hit-and-run that killed a 75-year-old Spring Valley father.
The crash occurred at 10:02 p.m. on Tyler Street and Sweetwater Road.
Officers say the victim's daughter had just dropped him off when she heard brakes screeching, looked in the rear view mirror, and saw a car hit her dad.
The suspect drove off, traveling northbound on Sweetwater Road.
Officers say found the suspect and driver in an apartment complex off of Troy Street.
Andrew Thoozen, 18, of El Cajon was arrested on one charge of felony hit and run resulting in death.
Investigators with the San Diego Police Traffic Division say the victim was not using a marked crosswalk.
