A friend discovered two bodies in an apartment complex in Vista but the deaths aren’t being treated as a homicide by investigators.
Just before 9 p.m. last night, a person visiting the La Terraza apartments on Oak Drive in Vista entered one of the units. Inside, a man and a woman were found dead. The man's identy is being withheld until next of kin has been notified. He's listed as single, 48 year old white man who was a resident of Vista on the medical examiner's website. On Tuesday, the ME released the identity of the woman found in the apartment as Joanna Lynn Garcia, 47.
San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies called in homicide investigators because they couldn’t immediately determine the cause of death.
By morning, investigators said there was no indication of foul play and the deaths may have been caused by an overdose. According to the medical examiner's report there were no indications of trauma, violence, ransack or drug abuse.
