San Diego is full of hidden pockets of talent, and with the simplicity of software for home recording, bands often skip the traditional channels to get noticed. One such band -- San Diego's latest buzz band -- hasn't even played a proper show but was written about on tastemaking blogs like Crawdaddy and has already been signed to LA's Autumn Tone Records (founded by Scott Simineaux of popular blog Aquarium Drunkard). The trio who make up Dirty Gold are still in high school and have only played for friends until tonight, when the young band makes their live public debut at the Tin Can.
If indie buzzbands aren't your speed and you want a little old soul, catch Fitz & the Tantrums, performing at M-Theory, then head north to a show at the Belly Up with local legends Greyboy Allstars. There are solid lineups all over town, from the Casbah to the Soda Bar and all the way out at the newish Til Two Club, so get out and enjoy what San Diego has to offer before the holidays completely take over.
