DJ IDeaL Springs Into April EDM

SoundDiego fam, welcome to a month full of fun with plenty of options to keep your earthly dancing urges satisfied

SoundDiego fam -- welcome to a month full of fun with plenty of options to keep your earthly dancing urges satisfied. Kicking off with a fabulous double-sided booking, We Love Bass presents house music’s Jesse Perez coming in from Miami, and Reid Speed, the bass queen from NYC whose DJ trips take you through dubstep, trap, drum 'n' bass and electro. It's all going down Saturday, April 6, at the Hole in the Wall! On recovery Sunday, April 7, Sunday is 4 Lovers presents techno legend Kenny Glasgow, the pioneer who’s been on the road pushing dance music since his early warehouse party days. Enjoy a fabulous sunset at Firehouse PB along with Jimbo James -- the resident music lover and provider.

Thursday, April 11, pans out as a busy one with multiple events popping off. Not always having to be about the party, it’s nice to have events that focus on the culture and community of which we dance music lovers are a part. Such event is taking place at Kava Lounge with the Electronic Music Workshop Series featuring Ramon Amezcua, aka Bostich, from the Nortec Collective live band. Explore the world of live electronic music performance and gear demos through a Q&A panel, and come with an open mind, ready to learn and mingle with fellow music aficionados. From there, you can either stay local, enjoying the beats of Oona Dahl along with Staybad’s Positive Language duo at Blonde Bar, or head up north to Where House in Carlsbad where Night Bass artist Vanilla Ace makes a special guest appearance in San Diego.

Giving you a week to rest up, Friday, April 12, at Omnia San Diego welcomes a local favorite and super rising star that is making big noise everywhere he goes with his rhythms and rhymes and unique original music. Saturday, April 13, you can keep it intimate or go festival style, from San Diego to our southern sister party cities in Rosarito. BrokenBeatSD, featuring headliner Kombat, Legit Lives, Skandar and a special visuals show by Rykel at Space Bar, is a night for the mischief makers, the ones who break the mold and the ones who wouldn’t necessarily have a place in the traditional mainstream sounds of the EDM world. For the bigger experience down south, Ekinox Fest 2019 invites you to their beach-side camping and dancing festival in Rosarito, Mexico, featuring a slew of international and local artists, with headliners Get Physical’s Supernova and Schuhmacher from Deeperfect Records.

Saturday, April 20, we have the highlight underground event of the month as we Enter the Dank. Like always, this one is invite only -- follow the ticket link or event pages on social medias, and it is sure to tantalize your sensations like never before. Featuring a fabulous lineup of house and techno, Tino Bad Beat from Las Vegas’ MNTRA plus Techno Taco Tuesday and myself DJ IDeaL plus Mr Koolaid deliver a back to back set. Cris Herrera celebrates another year around the sun with us, Rock the Discotek delivers with his teched out beats and Donald Thump, aka Dylan Andrews, gets medieval on us in the underground dungeons. There's plenty of surprises you’ll have to see to believe. Do not miss out on this very exclusive gathering of minds and souls.

On Wednesday, April 24, a very special morning dancing and yoga edition of Daybreaker SD goes down at Skateworld SD. An encouraging theme of “Party Animals” invites you to kick off your day with a sober dance party while embodying (and dressing up as) your inner animal spirit. Featuring DJ Eric Medina and yoga guru and love provider Thomas Wall, you’ll have a double dose of yoga and music sessions to enjoy with fellow dancers. Thursday, April 25, welcomes New York’s Lady Verse, who is on a music video promo mini-tour of “Keeper,” the Beatport- and Billboard-charting track that's landed her in San Diego for a feature performance at Rich’s. It's a dual show presented by Revive619 with the ever popular weekly Lez.

An event many San Diego underground lovers have been waiting for is finally upon us, and our hearts couldn’t be more thrilled as Desert Hearts’ lovers gather once again for the four day, 24-hour music festival experience -- all sharing one featured stage on Los Coyotes Reservation. With your usual suspects of the Desert Hearts family on the lineup, the anticipated bill is sure to satisfy everyone's needs, as past lineups have never left anyone wanting more. Closing out the month for those that can’t make it to the desert, on Saturday, April 27, Enter the Tech hosts the monthly brunch and beats Day Time Delight brunch, this time as the thank you party for the 420 celebrations. Giving light to the Rail bringing together a wide range of people, DJs and musical styles, enjoy the delicious edibles and warm up for the nighttime festivities on the custom sound brought in and new dance floors ready for some stomping. Later on that evening, AC Lounge hosts part two of Lady Verse’s music video promo tour at Hands & Knees -- the special quarterly event inviting you to dance on the private light up dance floor, complete with dance pole for even more fun! Being joined by special guests, Lady Verse brings you East Coast vibes to blend with West Coast flavors on this coast to coast tour.

Not wanting you to miss out on a fabulous event and giving you a preview for what's coming to kick off May during Cinco De Mayo weekend, West Coast Weekender invites you to take a stay-cation at the Viejas Casino & Resort from May 2 to May 6 for a multi-day, party and convention experience featuring top name artists and speakers with panels, product/demo expos and nighttime activities featuring the likes of Claptone, Carl Craig, Lee Foss, Doc Martin and many more.

As promised, there are probably more parties to hit up than is physically possible, and as you search down the rabbit hole, you will find even more events to fulfill your needs -- so keep on digging.

Muuuuuuuuch love to all supporters and readers, and I'll see you on the dance floor!
