San Diego Mountains Receive Light Dusting of Snow

While rain poured down across most parts of San Diego County over the weekend, one area received some snow.

Parts of Mount Laguna and Palm Mesa High Point received a light dusting of snow Sunday.

The dusting happened late Sunday night into Monday morning as temperatures in the Mount Laguna area dropped to 32 degrees.

Mountain areas in San Diego County can expect rain showers Monday with light snowfall in some areas above 5,500 feet elevation.

"Areas of high elevation, like Mt. Laguna, have seen a nice dusting, and could get another inch this afternoon," said NBC 7 Meteorologist Jodi Kodesh.

The storm, moving in from the north, allows for snow at higher elevations. Because the snow is accompanied with wind, there will be low visibility at times in the mountains, Kodesh said.

NBC 7’s Elena Gomez reports from Harmony Grove and Country Club where overnight rains have flooded the road.
