A quake shook San Diego just before 6:30 a.m. Monday.
A 4.4-magnitude quake struck 31 miles west of Rosarito at 6:19 a.m. according the USGS website. The epicenter was 42 miles SSW of Imperial Beach.
The USGS first reported a 4.8 quake and minutes later upgraded it to a 5.0. Around 7:30 a.m., the site updated the information again changing the magnitude to the current 4.4.
According to @nbcsandiego Twitter followers, the quake was felt in Rancho Penasquitos, Mission Valley, Ocean Beach, Paradise Hills, Kearny Mesa, Clairemont, Rancho Bernardo, Bankers Hill, East Village, Sorrento Valley, National City and as far away as Oceanside.

Another follower, @o_OxJEN posted "I felt it in Spring Valley it was just a little shake."
"I was walking into our room and my wife asked, "Did you feel that?" I thought it was me walking. Thanks for confirming Jason," wrote @jkanoya.

Firefighters put the call out over radios to move trucks immediately and follow earthquake procedure.
At Fire Station 1 Downtown, crews pull trucks out of the building in case the quake is a precursor of a larger event, according to Chief John Fisher.
“Things went just fine this morning. We’re used to pulling the rigs out from time to time,” he said. “Everything went real smoothly. “
Fisher confirmed there were no reports of damage around the city.
