Man Suspected of Vandalizing Vehicles at Mossy Infiniti Arrested

A man suspected of vandalizing dozens of cars at an Oceanside dealership on Christmas Eve was arrested on Saturday, the Oceanside Police Department confirmed.

Devon Burg, 29, was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on vandalism charges.

Burg, a Vista resident, is suspected of vandalizing 31 brand new vehicles at the Mossy Infiniti Dealership on College Boulevard in Oceanside.

The estimated amount of damage to vehicles is over $175,000, police said.

Surveillance video showed the suspect walking up and down the rows of vehicles, damaging them. The vandalism occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2016.

Executive General Manager, Sean Hogan spoke with NBC 7 after the incident in December. He said almost all the metal in the cars needs to be replaced and repainted.

All 31 vehicles will either be totaled, or fixed and sold with a disclosure that they were damaged.

Burg is expected to be in court on Jan. 27.
