Detectives are searching for a suspect accused of punching a man in the face at a popular bar in Hillcrest.

Investigators said the alleged assault happened on Oct. 21 around 1:45 a.m. at Urban MO’s Bar & Grill located at 308 University Ave.

A male patron was sitting in the bar area talking to a female friend when an unknown male suspect got into a verbal altercation with him.

The suspect initially walked away, but returned a short time later and “sucker-punched” the male patron in the face, detectives said.

As a result of the attack, the victim’s jaw was broken in two places. He was treated at a local hospital.

Investigators said the suspect was last seen walking out of Urban MO’s. He’s wanted on suspicion of felony battery assault.

Police describe the suspect as a clean-shaven, 5-foot-8 Hispanic male between 20 and 30 years old. He had a stocky build, black hair, brown eyes and tattoos covering both arms up to his biceps.

Detectives released a composite sketch of the suspect Friday. Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact SDPD detectives at (619) 692-4820 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
