Get ready for some Slush: Sonic is expanding its presence in San Diego.
“We have significant growth plans for the San Diego market,” wrote a Sonic Drive-In spokesperson to The Scene.
Today, construction crews broke ground for a Sonic in San Marcos that is expected to open by mid-summer, according to the spokesperson. The franchise is also exploring a potential site in the Clairemont area at the location of the former Black Angus restaurant on 5247 Kearny Villa Rd.
There are also plans in the works for a National City Sonic Drive-In, but no official dates were released.
But doesn’t some limeade or a milkshake sound like a great way to cool off this summer? Cheers!
