Demi Lovato Joins β€œX Factor” as Judge

The 19-year-old pop singer her new fellow judge Britney Spears are expected to appear at Fox's upfronts Tuesday

Britney won't be the only pop star at the judges' table on the next season of "The X Factor."

Disney teen queen Demi Lovato is joining the Fox talent show, too, to round out its panel of four judges.

Fox finally confirmed that Lovato and Britney Spears would join the talent show's judges' panel at Fox's Upfronts presentation in New York Monday, according to Billboard.

"Well, we delivered," creator Simon Cowell said, adding that "rumors are one thing, but delivery is something else."

Lovato gushed about her new gig. "I'm totally stoked to be here because of not only the opportunity to be a judge here but the presence of you guys is just an honor to be standing next to you," she said.

Spears added that she too was excited for the opportunity. "It's gonna be so much fun and so different from anything I've ever done," she said, according to Billboard. "I'm ready to find the true star."

The pop queens will join "X Factor" Cowell and producer-turned-hitmaker L.A. Reid as judges.

Cowell had been on the hunt for two new judges ever since a shake-up earlier this year, when he sacked one-time Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and friend and former "American Idol" co-judge Paula Abdul.

Spears was reportedly handed a $15 million contract for the first season.

Hers had been one of several high-profile names β€” including Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson β€” that had been bandied about in talks of who might join the show. The new gig could help revive her career.

Also ousted in the shake-up this year was host Steve Jones. One "X Factor" producer told TV Guide back in February that Cowell wanted man and woman co-hosts "to make it feel a little bit like an award ceremony."
