Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About Marriage, Talks Brad & Angelina

Gwyneth Paltrow has been married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for nearly seven years, but in all that time, the two have been notoriously tight-lipped about their marriage — until now.

The actress, who hits theaters May 7, reprising her role of Pepper Potts in "Iron Man 2," gave Harper's Bazaar a look inside her marriage.

While speaking to the magazine for its May 2010 issue, Gwyneth spoke about a new film she recently completed work on – "Love Don't Let Me Down" — that sees her playing a musician. For the role, she needed to learn guitar — and it was while talking about that experience that she shared her feelings about Chris.

"He was so helpful, so sweet and encouraging. I mean, it's embarrassing to be playing in front of your husband, especially when he's in one of the world's most successful bands," she said.

"He is so great because he's so supportive of me as an artist," she added. "He loves the fact that I'm working and was so fulfilled by this job that I did in Nashville. He's my biggest supporter. He's always like, 'We'll make it work.'"

Gwyneth recently parted ways with "The Danish Girl," a film project she was previously attached to that will star Nicole Kidman, due to a location change, and the blonde told Harper's that Chris said something about that decision that made her appreciate him more.

"When I pulled out [of 'The Danish Gir'l], he said, 'I think you'll be happy with your decision.' I really lucked out with him. He's deeply lovely and special," she said.

Before marrying Chris in December 2003, Gwyneth was linked to a host of Hollywood's leading men, including Brad Pitt, and she told Harper's that she feels bad for the amount of tabloid coverage heaped upon her ex and his partner, Angelina Jolie.

"Every time, they're like, 'Their marriage is in crisis!' or whatever. And you're just like, 'Well, you always write that about me, and it's never right, so I can only assume it's not right,'" she said. "I feel bad for them. They have it worse than anybody on the planet. I mean, we get hounded too, but not like that."

As for her own moments of being hounded, Gwyneth said the pictures that the photographers get aren't a reflection of who she is.

"The thing about the paparazzi, I realized, is it's probably made me look like a really grumpy person," she explains. "Because when you get a magazine and you see someone with a scowl on her face, looking down, you're like, 'God, she looks like a b****' or 'She looks like an unhappy old lady.' But when you're the person they're taking the picture of, it's like, 'You want me to look at you and smile? Are you out of your mind?'"
