“My Week With Marilyn” Trailer Kicks Off the Michelle Williams Oscar Watch

Michelle Williams has been a prohibitive favorite for a Best Actress nod, and now with the release of this first trailer for "My Week With Marilyn" legitimizes those suspicions.

"My Week With Marilyn" recounts the time Marilyn Monroe (Williams) spent in 1956 on location in London shooting "The Prince and the Showgirl" with Sir Laurence Olivier, during which time she spent a week gallivanting with Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), a young assistant on the film.

Aside from the obvious differences in body type, Williams appears to capture Monroe perfectly, with her breathy childlike voice, and an almost evanescent presence countered by the nagging sorrow that would eventually lead to her overdose a few years later.

Directed by Simon Curtis, the film also stars Kenneth Branagh as Olivier, Emma Watson, Julia Ormond, Toby Jones, Dominic Cooper, Judi Dench, Dougray Scott and Derek Jacobi.

"My Week With Marilyn" opens Nov. 4.
