Eric Clapton has added eight North American dates to his tour, including a March 6 show in San Diego.
Tickets went on sale on Friday for the concert at Valley View Casino Center; Los Lobos will open the show.
Touring behind his recent album Clapton, the legendary guitarist will be backed by touring partners Steve Gadd (drums), Willie Weeks (bass), Chris Stainton (keyboards), with Michelle John and Sharon White on backup vocals. The album was nominated for a Grammy this week for the song “Run By Your Side.” Clapton has yet to announce what other guitarist will accompany him on tour.
The 65-year-old Englishman is known for a plethora of hits including “Layla,” “Tears in Heaven” and “Wonderful Tonight.” His cover of Bob Marley’s “I Shot The Sheriff” helped paved way for reggae artist’s presence in popular music.
Ticket prices range from $55.50 to $99.50; VIP packages prices have not been announced.
