New changes in the Chargers coaching staff includes the retirement of Hall of Famer Charlie Joiner.
Joiner, at 65, announced his retirement Tuesday saying “It’s time in my life … I should be doing something else. Right now, I have no idea what I will be doing” according to the team’s website.
Joiner played 11 seasons as a Chargers teammate and worked 10 years with the team as a coach most recently as the wide receivers coach.
New head coach Mike McCoy recently hired Ken Whisenhunt, former Arizona Cardinals head coach to be his offensive coordinator.
