They did better than anyone thought they would have. The United States 7's Rugby team made it all the way to the semi-finals of the 2009 USA Sevens Championship at PETCO Park.
They actually led their semi-final match against Argentina 14-12 with three minutes to play, but gave up a late score to lose 19-14. Argentina went on to beat England in the final match.
All in all it was a successful weekend at PETCO, both for the teams and the big crowds that watched them play.
