NBA Game Summary – Charlotte vs. LA Lakers

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Jordan Farmar scored 17 points and the Lakers beat Charlotte 102-98 in an exhibition game, but reigning NBA MVP Kobe Bryant injured his right knee and left the contest.

Late in the second quarter, Bryant came down onto the floor awkwardly on teammate Josh Powell's foot and suffered a hyperextended knee. The Lakers said Bryant will be re-evaluated on Wednesday. Bryant scored four points in 14-plus minutes of action for the Lakers.

Andrew Bynum scored 16 points and Trevor Ariza added 14 in the win.

Jason Richardson and Gerald Wallace both scored 16 points for the Bobcats, who made good on only 3 of 15 attempts from three-point range. They remain winless (0-7) in the preseason under new coach Larry Brown.

The contest was tight throughout, but the Lakers outscored the Bobcats 33-28 in the final quarter to pull out the win. The Lakers shot 50 percent (7-of-14) from beyond the arc.
